Month 2 felt like shouting into a void

The chapter nobody talks about.

Hey,

Month 2 of building something in public felt brutal.

When I first started on ๐•, nobody would DM me back. Nobody liked anything I posted. Nobody would even talk to me. I was tweeting at the wall for months.

I'd wake up motivated. Sit down to create. Put work out there. Crickets. No feedback. No clients. No "this helped me."

I'd check again at lunch. Again before bed. Same silence.

I started telling myself maybe I wasn't cut out for this. Maybe smarter people get the breaks. Maybe I started too late. Maybe the world doesn't need another voice.

I almost quit. Glad I didn't.

Here's what I didn't understand yet. I was waiting to feel chosen before I kept going. Like someone would tap me on the shoulder and say "okay, you're good enough now."

Nobody taps you. You keep building until the work speaks louder than your doubt.

So I changed one thing. I stopped creating for applause. I started creating because I said I would. Every day. Even ugly days. Even days nobody noticed.

Month 3 something small moved. Month 13 something big moved. Same person. Different relationship with the process.

Month 1: $0. Month 2: $0. Month 3: $223. I didn't know that arc was coming. I just kept posting.

But I stuck with it. That's the whole win from that chapter.

Trust me โ€” I've been exactly where you are. Doubting. Comparing. Wondering if people who win are just luckier or smarter.

They're not. They're mostly still creating while everyone else quit.

I started going to the gym around this time too. Not because I read a productivity book โ€” because my head needed clearing. Health and mindset are connected. When my body moved, my doubt got quieter. I could sit down and create again.

One small habit outside the work helped me stay in the work. Find yours. Walk. Gym. Sleep. Something.

If you're in month two and nothing's moving โ€” you're not broken. You're in the part of the journey everyone skips on Instagram.

The void gets quieter when you stop waiting for applause and start building for you.

Keep showing up. The compound curve doesn't care about your feelings. It cares about your reps.

Don't quit in the quiet chapter.

I remember checking my phone at red lights. Not proud of it. Refreshing like the next pull might be the one that proved I wasn't wasting my time.

It never was. Not in month two.

People asked if I was okay. I said yeah, just working on something. I couldn't explain why I kept typing into silence when the metrics said zero. Sounded delusional even to me.

The gym helped before the numbers did. Leg day on a day nobody liked my post. Sweat instead of spiral. Walk home with one voice-note idea. Ship something small that night. Not heroic โ€” survival.

Comparison made month two worse. I'd see someone announce a launch, a hire, a viral thread. I'd think: they're ahead. Maybe I'm not built for this.

What I couldn't see: their month two. Their deleted posts. Their years before the screenshot.

The void isn't punishment. It's tuition. Everyone who built something real paid it.

Win that came later: Month 3 โ€” $223. First proof the wall wasn't permanent. Month 13 โ€” $7,502. Same reps, bigger stack.

Fail I almost made: quitting at follower 89 because silence felt like a verdict. It wasn't. It was lag.

I didn't get braver in month two. I got more stubborn. Bravery waits for confidence. Stubbornness shows up anyway.

One rep today. One post. One reply. One walk. Don't quit.

I share these stories because Monday's tactics only work if you survive the chapters nobody posts about.

Month two silence. Deleted posts. $0 months. The first invoice that scared me. Boring Tuesdays. Sunday nights with honest eyes. That's the real personal brand journey โ€” not the highlight reel.

Almost three years later I have 5.3K on ๐•, 16.2K on LinkedIn, 1,100+ subscribers, and clients who found me in public. Same person who almost quit in the void. Different stamina.

Your details will differ. The lesson won't: keep building when it's boring. Protect your health. Ship when it's ugly. Study when it flops. Stay in the arena.

Personal branding online isn't a performance for strangers. It's the accumulated evidence that you kept going when quitting was rational.

I still have doubt days. I still open my work and think it's not good enough. I ship anyway. That's the life lesson behind every tactic I teach on Monday.

Don't quit ten percent before the bend. Your future self is counting on today's rep โ€” even when today's rep feels invisible.

Thank you for reading.

Who Is Andrei Lucian?

Just a writer building in public.

Hey, I'm Andrei.

I'm a writer and ghostwriter obsessed with how people grow online without a viral lottery ticket โ€” the drafts, the replies, and the small wins most creators never post about.

I spent years shouting into an empty feed before anything moved. Almost three years of daily writing later, I grew to 5,300+ on ๐•, 16,300+ on LinkedIn, 5,500+ on Instagram, 850+ on Substack, and 1,100+ on my newsletter โ€” all organic, no ads.

Now I document that playbook in my weekly letters and build content systems for founders who'd rather ship than stare at a blank page.
